God Created us to be in "Rhythm with Him"
This past Sunday in our Small Group at church, we discussed how we live day by day in rhythm. The sun comes up every morning and the moon comes out every evening. This produces a rhythm effect for our days and nights here on Earth.
Daily, we have to get up at a certain time to get ready for school or work, eat, gather up everything that we need for the busy day ahead, and get out the door by a certain time!
Some days, it takes all that I have; to get out of bed, find clothes that I want to wear for that day; usually different than the clothes that I picked out the night before, and get out the door, to make it on time for work! Plus, I have a little toddler that takes up a little bit of my time too; some days, a little more time than others. It’s my own fault though. I always want to sleep another minute or two after I wake up. I really can’t blame my morning chaos on my son. I admit it. I’m lazy. If I would get up a little earlier, I wouldn’t have to rush so much! Does this happen to you sometimes? This week, I’m challenging myself to get up earlier and start my day on a better, relaxed note. I’m going to create a “New Rhythm” in my morning routine!
Have you ever felt a rhythm or action was off in a relationship with a friend or teammate? Just something didn’t feel right. When this has happened to you, did you confront your friend about it, ignore it, or maybe even… avoid them for a while?
“New Rhythms” happen all of the time when relationships end and others get created. For example, the first day of school is so scary because there is “No Rhythm”. You have no idea who is going to be in your classes; or where your classes are for that matter, and who your teachers are etc… Just pray for “Guidance and Peace” within yourself to get through the new changes! You don’t see it but you are creating a “New Normal” or “New Rhythm” in your life! God will help you through this transition… so be patient.
I think being patient is easy to say, but so hard to do. By nature, we want results fast! When we give our worries, anxieties, and concerns to God; He WILL take care of it, just be patient. The ending result will come in “His Time”. Do not try to fix it… Let it go, give it to God, and…wait for Him!
How much time have you spent with God lately? I’m challenging each of you to start a “New Rhythm” in your daily routine with God; either start or end the day with a few verses of the Bible. Maybe schedule some time after school or work for just some quiet time with Him. For me, when I spend time with God during my day, my day seems to flow so much easier!
This week, really look at how you fill your busy days and evenings. Are you around people who are in sync with Christ? If not, maybe you can make an impact on them by letting them know exactly how you feel when they talk bad towards another friend of yours. Maybe even their character has become completely out of control with bad thoughts and words lately. Use your knowledge of Christ and share it! Let them know that God loves each of us and wants all of us to be kind to one another and help each other. We are not to isolate or speak bad to or about anyone! Share His Love and how He wants each of us to give all of our concerns to Him. He wants us to live our lives full of Happiness, Kindness, and Love! God Loves us so much and He wants us to share His Love with others!
