Hardships are a Normal Part of Life

The word, “Encouragement” is a key word in 2 Corinthians. Paul points out in 2 Corinthians 1:1 – verse 1:9 that there are two greatest human needs that are met by God. The first is the need for Forgiveness. Every person is a sinner, and we need God’s Grace. The second is the need for Comfort. Everyone is a sufferer, and we need God’s Peace. 2 Corinthians 1:8, we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.
