“Don’t trade what’s important for what’s immediate.”

The point is if we get to the same place; why not take the short cut! We all deal with this in life. We know what we should do and what is expected of us, but time and time again… we become lazy. We all do just enough to get by; which causes bad consequences, that could have been prevented. An example of this can be; as a student, waiting to the last minute on doing your Homework or Studying for a Test causing you to cram all of your study late in the evening, or first thing in the morning before your class. All of this stress and loss of sleep could have been prevented by taking the time to do your Homework or Study after school; the night before, instead of hanging out with your friends and running around all evening to come home late, and then do your lessons for the next school day. This also happens with adults in the workplace waiting to the last minute for a Speech, a Conference, a Presentation, or even an Important Conference Phone Call. If you don’t spend time studying and preparing for it, your delivery will show it. The bottom line is that it’s worth it to do what you need to do “right” the first time – even if it’s not as “fun” – making it a priority.
