Only God can give us “What We Want”

Today, our culture feeds on our utmost desires and tries to market thousands of quick solutions to meet our common desires and wants. Unfortunately, these are just quick fixes that leave us wanting more… What are your deep, down desires that motivate your immediate wants? The word “Desire” is complicated, because for every “Desire”, there is a “Deeper Motivation”. All of us have desires. We all want to matter and feel worth, to feel intimacy, to have a hope and a future, and want to adventure and try new things! For example, when you give into Peer Pressure this is because you want to feel accepted. Another example is to give into Sex with your Boyfriend because you don’t want to lose him! You want to feel needed and loved no matter to what extent! This is a twisted way of thinking! To begin, we are all loved 100% by God above unconditionally. God gives us “His Love” for each of us to feel Matter and Worth, Closeness, and Hope for the Future – An “Eternal Life” with Him in Heaven! We should not be living through “Things or People”… desires of “Things and People” just make us want to “Desire More”! Does a drinker just desire a drink once? No, he wants to try another drink and then… something a little stronger. Or maybe you are desiring a tattoo? Well, if you have one tattoo… you probably have more than one or are in the “desiring state” to have another one… same is true for piercings, shoes, clothes… the list goes on and on… We all should be living through “God”… and living a life pleasing to Him! Try to start having a desire for “Him” instead of the things of the world! Through Him, you are complete and fulfilled! . All of the desires and wants for material items of this world are short lived! They’re not eternal like our Father in Heaven is… Our desires and wants pass with every new generation… or sometimes they change as fast as the seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. God knows what will really satisfy each of us. Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”?
