Determining Right from Wrong
I just wanted to share some of the interesting topics that we shared in our Bible Study last night. We were talking about sharing God’s Word with others that are not living the way they should as Christians; such as living together with someone as a boyfriend or girlfriend and being "unmarried". Another topic that we talked about was talking with people that are involved in a gay or lesbian relationship. There are many, many more examples. The list could go on and on...
First, we all agreed that you have to be on the same page as them when you are sharing God’s Word. Do not seem to look down on them for their sin. We are all born sinful creatures on this earth. Unfortunately, daily, we all sin, don’t we? So, don’t start judging them right off the bat! As Christians; we are no better than anyone, Christian or non-Christian.
After you get on the same level, share with them your beliefs, and why moral values are so important in life. Emphasize that they are there to protect us from living a vulnerable life full of sin and misery. Sin starts off as fun and inviting, but sadness and sorrow does creep in after a while. The aftermath of sin leaves quite a bit of grief and damage.
Also, try to explain to others that morals and the "Ten Commandments" aren’t just rules to follow. They keep us grounded in our faith reminding us Right from Wrong. God wants each of us to have a life full of “Happiness and Peace”. Sin causes extreme amounts of drama and chaos. It is not worth it.
This next week, try to be an example of "God’s Love and Peace". It’s amazing how it attracts people. They can’t understand how you can be so grounded under any circumstance that your life may lead you. Just let them know that we “Get All of Our Peace” from our Father in Heaven. He make our lives complete and worth living.
He is the ANSWER!
